About Clay Target Club
The members of the Virginia Tech Clay Target Team compete in a number of different events during both the Fall and Spring semesters including Trap, Skeet, International Trap, Olympic Skeet, and Sporting Clays. They have recently hosted and attended several competitions in Virginia as well as attended competitions in Kentucky, Delaware, Missouri, and the ACUI Collegiate National Clay Target Championships in San Antonio, Texas. The team practices on a weekly basis at the Izaak Walton Gun Club in Christiansburg, Virginia and holds additional practices at Dublin Clays in Dublin, Virginia, Summit Springs in Ferrum, Virginia, and the Triangle Sportsmen’s Club in Bluefield, Virginia. The Virginia Tech Clay Target Team strives for excellence in citizenship, scholarship, and marksmanship. The club sport is open to all students, graduate or undergraduate, who would like to improve their clay target skills.
