Student Driver Agreement

Fleet Services Vehicle Agreement

I fully understand that upon release of a Fleet Services vehicle I will be assuming the following responsibilities:

1. To have in my possession at all times a valid state driver's license. I will notify the Sports Club Office if my license is revoked, suspended or otherwise restricted. I will not operate a Fleet Services vehicle until the matter with my license has been resolved.
2. To familiarize myself with and abide by parking and traffic regulations of Virginia Tech and applicable Virginia state and local laws.
3. To properly care for the vehicle while it is in my custody.
4. To observe commonly accepted rules of courtesy towards pedestrians and other drivers.
5. To lock the vehicle when it is unoccupied.
6. To pay any traffic or parking fines incurred by me.
7. To use and park the vehicle in a manner that will not reflect unfavorably on the University.
8. To permit only those eligible club members, coach, advisor and or Department of Recreational Sports faculty members as listed on the approved Travel Roster form to be transported in the vehicle.
9. To see that, barring emergencies, the vehicle is returned to Fleet Services by the scheduled time.
10. Remember that NO alcohol or illegal substances are allowed on any club trip or function. Smoking in a Fleet Services vehicle is prohibited.
11. Cell phones, blackberries, smart-phones, or other electrical devices must be operated via a hands-free device. Any other use such as text messaging or emailing is prohibited while the vehicle is in drive and/or in motion.

Personal Vehicle Agreement

1. To have in possession at all times a valid state driver's license.
2. To familiarize myself with and abide by parking and traffic regulations of Virginia Tech and applicable Virginia state and local laws.
3. To observe commonly accepted rules of courtesy towards pedestrians and other drivers.
4. I further acknowledge my understanding that in the event of an accident involving my private vehicle during the transportation of Extramural Sport Club members, I must look to the carrier of my personal insurance for coverage.
