Yoga & Relaxation – A mind-body workout
For this short workout, students should bring a yoga mat if they have one or a towel will work fine. Yoga focuses on flexibility, muscular balance, and relaxation by taking you through a series of poses and stretches. This workout will leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed. All exercise levels welcome. (30 minute workout and 10 minute question/answer time)

Weight Room Facts and Myths
A personal trainer will discuss common weight room myths and answer questions such as: What are better, free weights or machines weights? What’s the difference between “bulking up” and “toning?” How many sets and reps are appropriate? How often should I lift? (25 minute presentation and 15 minute question/answer session)

Dyna Band Workout
This workshop will guide you through exercises that can be done in your dorm room. Dynabands will be used for resistance training and everyone who attends will go home with a dynaband. Dress in workout attire for this demonstration. (30 minute demonstration, 10 mins for questions/answers)

Getting Fit at VT- Recreational Sports
This interactive workshop will help students learn about opportunities and programs at Virginia Tech that will help you reach your fitness goals successfully and help you meet people who enjoy sport & exercise as well. (40 minutes interactive workshop)

Weight Management
This interactive workshop will help students understand the trends of obesity in the US and proper weight management techniques. Each student will have the option to have their body fat tested. (40 minutes of interactive workshop)

Start a Running Program
This interactive workshop will help students learn the do’s and don’ts of a running program. We will address topics such as proper shoes, stretching techniques, injury prevention and creative running programs. (40 minutes of interactive planning)
