  1. How often can I attend group exercise classes?

    It is up to you how many classes per week you plan to attend. It can vary week to week. Make your own schedule and try as many different classes as you can. See schedules

  2. Which classes can I attend?

    Make sure to read which classes are in each package. The full package will allow you the most flexibility. You can attend any class on the schedule. The War Package includes all the classes that are scheduled at War Memorial Gym. This is recommended to Faculty and Staff who are not McComas members. The Mind/Body Package includes all types of pilates and yoga classes at McComas and War Memorial Hall. See packages

  3. Can I test out the classes before I sign up?

    YES! During the first week of the academic classes of the Fall and Spring semester, a Free Week schedule is offered so that you can decide whether or not you wish to purchase a pass. If you miss Free Week, you show up to the class you would like to attend and ask the Fitness Assistant on duty to use your one-time free pass. Please note that only (1) one time free pass may be used per participant per year. Cancellations and updates to the schedule will be posted online and at McComas and War Memorial Hall.

  4. How do I register and pay for group exercise classes?

    Register for fitness classes online. Payments may be accepted online using credit cards -- (Visa or Mastercard) or at McComas Hall using check, cash, Hokie Passport, or credit card. Once registration and payment is completed, your Hokie Passport will be activated within 10 minutes pending you do not have any medical release or payment issues. When you attend the classes, bring your Hokie Passport to the Equipment Desk at War Memorial Hall or the the Fitness Assistant on duty at McComas Hall prior to the class. Classes are first come first served so get there early to pick up a pass. Please note that all summer classes are at McComas Hall where you must be a full time student, McComas member or a student who has paid the Rec Fee.

  5. What is the refund / cancellation policy?

    Refunds will only be given for cancellations based on medical reasons. Medical documentation will be required, and there will be a $10.00 administrative charge.

  6. What clothing is appropriate for group exercise classes?

    Appropriate clothing includes any of the following: sweat pants, shorts, t-shirts, sports bras, and spandex shorts. It is highly recommended that participants wear cross-training or fitness type shoes to protect them from injury. The following shoes will NOT be permitted: open toe shoes, sandals, boots, dress shoes, or shoes with marking soles (with exception to Mind/Body and Aqua classes).
