Congratulations to the Hokie hockey team for winning the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Hockey playoffs this past weekend!
The hokies started the playoffs ranked #5 in the Southeast and went on to defeat #4 Liberty, #3 UMBC and #2 Penn State over a three-day period.
Good luck to them as they take their focus and team work to the Southeast Regional tournament next weekend.

The Virginia Tech Cyclocross, Snow Ski and Ice Hockey teams all accomplished some major goals at the start of the year.
During the break, the VT Cyclocross team raced their way to a great 5th place overall finish at the USA Cyclocross Collegiate Nationals in Madison, WI. Team president Will Massey noted how excited the team was, as this was the first time the team has ever sent riders to Nationals.
"This is a huge feat to accomplish given that we were competing against many varsity program schools," Massey said.

Hokie Hockey spent this past weekend in Lynchburg, VA for a three-game showcase. On Feb. 1 the Hokies suffered a tough loss against Rowan 4-2.
Not to fear! VT redeemed themselves the next day with a win over East Carolina 9-1 thereby solidifying a spot in the MACH playoffs!
After moving up to 5th in the Southeast rankings, the Hokies ended the showcase with another tough loss against Liberty 5-3.

This past Saturday Virginia Tech had the honor of hosting a fencing clinic for nearby college fencing clubs with three members of the US Olympic fencing team!

From Aug. 27 - Dec. 20, Virginia Tech sport clubs were asked to participate in a semester-long canned food drive for fundraising/community service. Clubs encouraged their participants and spectators to bring donated food to their games and tournaments.
Congratulations to Competitive Cheer for coming in 1st place and winning the VT Sports Club Community Award! A special congratulations to Equestrian and Women's Lacrosse for coming in 2nd and 3rd. More than 1600 cans and boxes were collected!

The Women's and Men's Club Soccer teams were very pleased in both making it to Nationals this year in Memphis,TN! The girls were happy to experience the competition. The boys won in the championship bracket - making it their first championship win ever! Congrats to both teams!
