Dave has been involved with recreation at Virginia Tech since 1994. He started as a student employee in 1996 and then advanced from Facility Scheduler in 1998 to Facility Manager of War Memorial Gym in 2001 and then to Assistant Director in 2007. He is a Virginia native and graduated with both a BA in Theater Arts and a MS degree in Health and Physical Education from Virginia Tech. He is a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and US Rowing Level III coach, as well as being a member of APPA and NIRSA. Dave is currently a member and webmaster for the Facility Managers Development Group (FMDG) at Virginia Tech. He has also been involved with the Crew sport club, serving as a coach from 1996-2007 and currently as the team's advisor. In his spare time he teaches weight training classes for the Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise department and the YMCA at Virginia Tech.
