Sam has been with the department since 1991. He began his Rec Sports career as a student employee in the Equipment Room, then Equipment Room Supervisor, and was recently promoted to the position of War Memorial Hall Facility Manager in 2007. Sam completed his BA in History in 1994, and his MA in Education, Curriculum and Instruction in 1995, both at Virginia Tech. Since 1995, Sam has held a Virginia Teacher's License. He is a lifetime member of the National Intramural - Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) and teaches classes for Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise. He enjoys playing racquetball and running in his spare time.
