Bob graduated from Virginia Tech in 1980 with a Health, Physical Education degree. From 1980 until spring of 2008, Bob worked for Appomattox County Schools as a teacher, coach, and athletic director. During the first 15 years at Appomattox he was head boys basketball coach for 7 years while also coaching baseball, football, girls basketball, softball, and volleyball in various capacities of JV and assistant coach. For the past 13 years Bob has been the athletic director for ACHS.
Bob's hobbies include following Virginia Tech sports, crossword puzzles, and playing with his dog. He is married and has one daughter, who entered Virginia Tech in 2007. She currently plays on the club softball team.
