Gabby Marquez joined the VT Rec Sports Staff in June 2008 as the Aquatics Graduate Assistant and is earning her master’s degree in Health Promotion while at Virginia Tech. Gabby, orginally from West Palm Beach Florida, attended Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) in Fort Myers. She graduated in 2007 from FGCU with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and quickly realized that the aquatics world was where she belonged. Gabby has been a part of some major overseas aquatic programs such as Camp Adventure in Guangzhou, China and Skool of Fish in Yokosuka, Japan. Gabby is certified in WSI, LGI, CPR, AED, First Aid, Oxygen and Lifeguard. Gabby started her aquatics career in a small water park in West Palm Beach, and since then has worked for different organizations such as the YMCA and the American Red Cross. Gabby enjoys traveling so much that she has been to 12 countries and says that she is not even close to being done. She enjoys swimming and shopping and is a proud member of Zeta Tau Alpha.
