Groundskeeper
This position helps prepare the fields for the Virginia Tech sport club and intramural programs. Applicants should have some turf and grounds management experience and should be able to complete all work in an efficient manner. Applicants are asked to be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Work hours are flexible around student’s schedules.
Duties include assisting the maintenance supervisor and staff with the following:
- Daily infield skin maintenance
- Batter’s box clay repair
- Pitching rubber clay repair
- Mowing
- Edging infields and shrub beds
- String trimming
- Some fertilizing
- Laying out fields in rugby, lacrosse, soccer, softball, flag football, cricket
- Field painting
- Maintaining tennis courts
- Equipment maintenance and repair
