Senior Stories: Logan Emory

Venture Out has been more than just a place to complete the ropes course for Logan Emory. It’s been a place for him to build his confidence in the professional world, overcoming obstacles, and stepping outside of his comfort zone.

“Starting out [in this job], I didn’t have much experience talking in front of groups. That’s what this job has been all about, and it has helped me tremendously in growing in those skills and building my professional resume.”

Not only has Emory been able to grow professionally, this job that started just as a summer gig has turned out to be a lot more than he expected.

“The summer after my sophomore year I was looking for internships, but my friend got me to work at the Challenge Course that summer,” said Emory. “It was a great summer, and I instantly fell in love with the job.

Emory has had some fond memories working the course, but he recalls the one time exchange students from Germany came to the course.

“It was super cool to have conversations with them while helping them with the course. I got to experience different perspectives on life, and it really enhanced my job that week.”

Emory will be graduating in May with a degree in BIT and will be headed to Charlotte to work for NTT Data.
